A fun re-telling of the Christmas story for young children, including regular invitations to make some noise!
Part of the Very Best Bible Stories series.
Some people think that Christmas was a "Silent Night". Far from it. It was filled with shouting, singing and screaming! It was as noisy as any of our Christmas celebrations.
This fun and fresh retelling of the Christmas story comes with invitations to make some noise, so that children can join in as parents read to them. But it also shows children that at the heart of the Christmas story is something we should all be quiet and see: God's Son Jesus was born, so that we can be friends with God forever.
A wonderful gift/ stocking for children aged 2-4. Can also be used to read aloud to children and to give away at toddler groups.

We used the digital slides for our all-ages Nativity service - with everyone joining in for the 'shhh' and noisy parts. Lots of fun. Great to have the slides to go with the story, and to be able to give the book away as a Christmas gift afterwards.
Story is engaing, scripture-based and accessible for those visiting church. The book itself is best for toddlers & preschoolers, but the slides can work for all-ages with a bit of enthusiasm!
Lovely fun, engaging retelling of a familiar story. Helped when reading to little ones with the 'shhhhhhh' as the children kept reengaging and remembering they were listening.
the free digital images are a fantastic tool to enable me to tell the story to a larger number of children and really make the story of the saviours birth hold their attention
We bought this book to gives to our toddler group families as a present. We also read it in the group for our Bible Storytime. Most of the children are between 10 months and just 2 years. They really listened to the story and readily joined in with the active bits. One mum says that her older children love it too and they are reading it to their younger siblings.
We would highly recommend this active and faithful telling of the first Christmas.
We have purchased the other books by Tim Thornborough and will be using them in the spring for our storytime.
We also gave a copy to our local primary school.
Used this in our Zoom Christmas Carol Service. Everyone across all ages enjoyed taking part in the retelling!
This retelling of the Christmas Story is so engaging for little ones, both my 18 month old and 3 year old love it. Lots of fun and telling the wonderful truth of Jesus' birth. Thoroughly recommend!
I love this book and having the accompanying PowerPoint makes it all the better. I’ve used them both to tell the story in church so all the congregation can see the image which are well drawn, bright and very engaging.
This is a fun introduction to Christmas and my toddler especially enjoys the quiet and loud voices, eagerly turning the page.
This is a lovely book and my girls especially enjoy joining in with all the very noisy bits. A really engaging retelling of the Christmas story.
Fantastic company, helpful ‘people behind the scenes’ great books assisting prayer life. Chose lots of books for gifts to others and to myself. Somewhat disappointed by the limited range of Christmas cards.
