XTB (eXplore The Bible) is a series of daily Bible reading notes for children of the 7-11 age group, with puzzles, pictures and prayers.
XTB is beautifully presented with full-colour illustrations and is a series of 12 books which, if used on a quarterly basis, will help a child cover all of the main books, themes and characters of the Bible in 3 years.
Look out for Table Talk - a book of daily Bible times for families with children aged from 4 upwards. The Bible passages are the same each day for XTB and Table Talk - so you can use the two books together, or on their own. Whichever suits you best.
We’ve been using xtb notes with all four of our children and they love them. It’s so easy to use daily and always helps us dig into God’s word and gives us new insights and wisdom.
The children love doing the puzzles and cracking the codes.
These notes don’t assume you’re in a Christian home so we’ve also given them to children to use (with parents’ permission!) who are drawn to Jesus but not in a believing family.
All three of our kids have enjoyed/enjoy doing these. The notes have engaging puzzles and questions helping them to glean the main message from the passage. As per other reviewers is probably best 30-60 minutes before bed or in the morning. Our youngest two borrow my desk to focus whilst doing them.
These are a great resource for moving from story book bibles to reading the Bible. We use them with my 9 and 7 year olds and they love the activities and find them engaging. The ‘think and pray’ bit helps them to apply God’s word and can promote further conversation.
Our three primary school aged kids absolutely *LOVE* XTB - it has given them a real hunger for getting stuck into the Bible, and equipped them with how to understand it and pray it in for themselves. Highly recommended!
Such a great devotional. My 7year old loves these and having been recommended we have done the same
Used these will all our children to introduce them to having their own quiet time. Tie in nicely to table talk used in family worship.
Takes your child in a straightforward journey from the Bible passage to application and prayer.
Longer passages are not read aloud but retold with a comic strip.
There are lots of codes to break and other word games.
I was given the E Mail address of this company by a friend when searching for devotional literature for children and young people and would recommend this company without hesitation.
These are well-presented and well-written Bible notes. However, our 8-year-old daughter (who is a strong reader) found the amount of content and length of readings a big step up from the notes she had previously been using. The notes need more time to digest and maybe before bed isn't the best time for using them.
My 7 year old who is a confident reader loves doing his XTB each morning. He loves how they teach you through different books of the bible and the fun exercise are really engaging and help him to remember what he has learnt.
